Is this AA?
Am I in the right place? Americans Anonymous? Good.
I have taken the 12 steps and am now proud to say that I have abstained
from being a Bush fearing American for 4 months, and I am here to tell
you how.
1. I admitted that I was powerless over our administration; that our country
had become unmanageable.
2. I admitted that I came to believe a power smaller than ourselves could
restore us to sanity.
3. I made a decision to turn my will and my life over to the care of Old
Europe as I understood it.
4. I admitted I tried to make a peace loving Islamic Communist of myself.
5. I admitted to the UN, to myself, and to another person the exact nature
of our wrongs.
6. I became entirely ready to have Kofi Annan remove all traces of superiority.
7. I humbly prayed to someone to remove my President…..
8. I made a list of all the countries we had harmed and became willing
to give out free pretzels.
9. I made friends with such people whenever possible, except when to do
so would injure them or others.
10. I continued to take Koran and Torah lessons and when I didn't understand,
well, I promptly admitted it.
11. I sought through learning foreign languages and from abstaining from
Starbucks to improve my conscious contact with Old Europe as I understood
it, paying for all of my past sins in Euros.
12. Having had a friendly visit from my Homeland Security Officer as a
result of these steps I try to carry this message to Americans and to
practice these principles in all my affairs.
p.s. the model for this text is the actual
12 step program. Most of the wording comes from that.
